It’s been a week of exciting anticipation for the Obaika Racing Team since Monday’s breezy announcement of NASCAR Camping Truck and Whelen 2005 Champion, Peyton Sellers’ entry into the team.
With over 30 wins and 50 poles on NASCAR governed tracks in his career, 30 year old and highly experienced Peyton arrived at the Phoenix International Raceway, Avondale, Arizona with the upbeat team looking forward to a great run and improved standings after back-to-back disappointments in Atlanta and Las Vegas.
“It’s a new opportunity I’m looking forward to,” Sellers told Joe Chandler of South Boston, Virginia’s The Gazette-Virginian, a new opportunity he hopes will raise the entire team and fix him as a regular feature in the Xfinity Series.
Prior to today’s arrival with the team, Peyton spent a few days hanging out with the boys and Crew Chief, Dan Stillman in our Charlotte workshop preparing for the challenge ahead. With the full support of team owner Victor Obaika, the crew and our fans, Peyton has all it takes to boost our young Racing Team.
We think a lot of hearts will be racing along this weekend with Virginian Peyton Sellers in the black #97 Chevrolet Camaro as we continue our never-ending love story with the tracks at the Phoenix International Raceway for the Axalta Faster-Tougher-Brighter200!
